Kidney - renal cortex (10x objective lens)

This image of the renal cortex contains four renal corpuscles: a pair in the center of the image and another pair in the upper left corner. Most of the image is occupied by cells with eosiniphilic cytoplasm, which form the walls of the convoluted portions of the uriniferous tubules. Other cells with lightly stained cytoplasm form the walls of the collecting tubules that collect urine from the distal convoluted tubules and carry it into the collecting duct system.
Stain = H&E.
