Pacinian corpuscle (10x objective lens)


This low magnification image shows a cross section of a Pacinian corpuscle, a pressure receptor, located in the pancreas. Note the concentric layers of cells that make up the corpuscle. In the very center is the unmyelinated terminus of a sensory (afferent) nerve fiber.
