Pacinian corpuscle (10x objective lens)

This low magnification view shows a whole mount of a Pacinian corpuscle, a pressure receptor. Pacinian corpuscles are large, ovoid structures composed of layers of cells organized like the layers of an onion. In the center of the corpuscle is an unmyelinated nerve fiber ending.
