Terminal ganglion - bronchus (100x objective lens)

This image shows a terminal ganglion (upper left quadrant of the image), part of the parasympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system. It is located in the connective tissue associated with a bronchus. Only a single neuron is visible, but they may be others out of the plane of section. Such neurons can be identified by their large size and their large nucleus with a single large and prominent nucleolus.
