Peripheral nerve - bronchus (40x objective lens)

This higher magnification image shows sinuous Schwann cell nuclei and partially extracted myelin. The nerve fibers themselves can be seen only in a few places amongst the myelin. This fascicle of nerves is bounded by a thin collagenous perineurium containing the flattened nuclei of fibroblasts. A capillary with a flattened endothelial cell nucleus can be seen at the upper right edge of the epineurium.
