This survey view of
a section from the spleen shows: (1) the thick capsule of dense connective
tissue; (2) numerous collagenous trabeculae, stained light red, which penetrate
deep into the pulp; several areas of white pulp, stained blue-purple; and
numerous areas of red pulp, stained deep red.
