Lymph node (4x objective lens)

This section of a lymph node shows the overall structure. The lymph node is surrounded by a thick connective capsule beneath which is the subcapsular sinus. Beneath the sinus is the densely vcellular cortex. The outer cortex contains lymphatic nodules with germinal centers. The deep cortex lacks nodules, but is still densely cellular. In the center of the lymph node is the medulla, with large medullary sinuses and medullary cords. The medulla also contains large blood vessels.
