This
low magnification view of a section from the spleen shows the thick connective
tissue capsule and numerous collagenous trabeculae, which extend from the
capsule and penetrate into the interior of the spleen. Also visible are densly
cellular areas of white pulp (just to the left of center) and extensive areas
of less dense red pulp.
