Skin, Sweat gland (20x objective lens)

This medium magnification image of a section from the skin shows the secretory portion of a sweat gland and a small piece of its duct. The secretory portion is tubular and highly coiled and consists of simple cuboidal epithelium. The duct (more darkly stained) is composed of stratified cuboidal epithelium. The gland is surrounded by adipose cells of the hypodermis and collagen fibers.
