Pancreas (20x objective lens)


This low magnification image of a section from the pancreas shows: 1) large numbers of serous secretory units (acini), with circular nuclei and basophilic cytoplasm; 2) several islets of Langerhans, with lightly stained cells; 3) two intralobular ducts, in the center and right center, with cuboidal epithelium; 4) connective tissue septa (light-colored lines), which divide up the lobes of the gland into lobules; and 5) blood vessels containing eosiniphilic erythrocytes.
Stain = H&E.
