Mixed serous and mucous secretory units (40x objective lens)

This section of the submandibular (submaxillary) gland shows a mixture of unstained mucous secretory units and serous secretory units with basophilic cytoplasm. The mucous secretory unit have serous demilunes composed of serous cells. Two intralobular ducts with walls of simple columnar epithelium are located on the upper left.
