Holocrine gland - sebaceous gland (20x objective lens)


This section of the skin shows a sebaceous gland associated with a hair follicle (angling from right to left through the right half of the image). Note the large, unstained cells with dark, centrally located nuclei, which become fainter and then disappear as the cells approach the hair follicle.
 
Stain = H&E.
