Pancreas (20x objective lens)

This image of a section from a lobe of the pancreas shows: 1) large numbers of serous secretory units (acini), with circular nuclei and basophilic cytoplasm and eosinophilic zymogen granules; 2) 3-4 islets of Langerhans, with lightly stained cells; and 3) connective tissue septa (here seen as artifactual spaces), which divide up the lobes of the gland into lobules.
Stain = H&E.
