This section shows
the simple columnar epithelium that forms the submucosal glands of the duodenum.
The cells are in a single layer, making it a simple epithelium, and taller
than they are wide, making them columnar and they have oval nuclei located
in the basal half of the cells. The cells also have the wedge-shape (wider
at the base and narrower at the apex) that is typical of the secretory cells
that form glands.
