Simple squamous epithelium (40x objective lens)

This image shows several blood vesssels located in the dermis of the skin, lined by a simple squamous epithelium, called an endothelium. Note the flattened nuclei of the endothelial cells that form the simple squamous epithelium and the tendency of the nuclei to bulge into the lumen of the blood vessel.
