Simple squamous epithelium (40x objective lens)


This section from the kidney shows three examples of simple squamous epithelium: (1) the outer (parietal) layer of Bowman's capsule (yellow arrows); (2) the inner (visceral) layer of Bowman's capsule (red arrows); and (3) capillary endothelial cells (blue arrows). In all three examples the epithelial cells are characterized by their flattened nuclei. The thin cell bodies are not visible
