This image shows an
interlobular duct located in interlobular connective tissue near the boundary
of the gland and the interlobar connective tissue (ICT).
The lumen (Lu) is lined by a simple columnar
epithelium supported by a thick sheath of interlobular connective
tissue (CT), containing an arteriole (Ar)
and a vein (V).
Thin septa (Se) of connective tissue extend from
the sheath through the parenchyma of the gland dividing it into lobules.
