Liver (4x objective lens)


This image from the liver of a pig shows several adjacent lobules. The lobules are polygonal in shape and surrounded by a septum (Se) of connective tissue, the collagen of which is stained blue with aniline blue. At the center of each lobule is the central vein (CV) into which blood flows from the hepatic sinusoids (Si). A large vein (Ve ) is seen in one of the septa.
Stain = AZAN
