Appendix - Mucosa (10x objective lens)

This view of the appendix shows: (1) the mucosa, containing crypts of Lieberkuhn (covered by a simple columnar epithelium with numerous goblet cells), the lamina propria and the muscularis mucosae; (2) the submucosa, containing dense aggregations of lymphoid cells.
Stain = H&E.
