Human Lip (4x objective lens)


This low magnification view of the interior of the the lip shows a nonkeratinizing stratified squamous epithelium (mucous membrane), resting on a lamina propria of loose connective tissue, containing secretory units and ducts of seromucous labial glands and, more deeply, fascicles of skeletal muscle.
