This image of the human
liver shows parts of several lobules. A lobule includes all of the sinusoids
that carry blood from blood vessels in various portal
areas (arrows) into a common central vein (CV).
Although there are no connective tissue septa in the human liver to mark the
boundaries of a lobule, the boundaries can be visualized by drawing an line
(outline) to connect each of the portal areas
that surround a central vein.
