Mast cells (20x objective lens)


At higher magnification it is easier to visualize the black carbon particles from the India ink (colloidal carbon) that have been taken up by macrophages. Therefore, macrophages can be identified by the clumps of black carbon particles accumulated in their cytoplasm.
Stain = India ink; Azure & eosin.
