Eosinophil (100x objective lens)

This micrograph shows eosinophils in the loose connective tissue of the soft palate. The most recognizable feature is the bi-lobed nucleus, which makes the cell appear to have two nuclei. The pink staining of the cytoplasm is due to the presence of eosinophilic granules.
