Lymphatic vessel - plastic section (100x objective lens)

This plastic section from the esophagus shows a lymphatic vessel. The vessel is lined by a simple squamous epithelium of endothelial cells. Endothelial cell nuclei are seen flattened at the boundary with the lumen. Note the irregular shape of this vessel - it appears to cover the irregular surfaces of the surrounding connective tissue.
