This image shows two eosinophils in the loose connective tissue of the wall of the ileum, part of the small intestine. Eosinophils are commonly found among the cells of loose connective tissue, where they can be identified on the basis of their eosinophilic granules. Sometimes the nucleus is circular, but often it is irregular or folded back on itself to form a "C" or a circle.
