Blood smear: erythrocytes (100x objective lens)


During the drying process some RBC's may undergo a major change in shape, from a discoidal shape to a spherical shape with knobby extensions. These are called crenated erythrocytes. One is seen in the center of the image.

Stain = Wright's Blood Stain.
