Blood smear: basophil (100x objective lens)


This basophil shows a rim of dark basophilic granules (staining metachromatically purple). The bean-shaped lighter area in the center is caused by the the blue-stained nucleus seen through a thin layer of basophilic granules.

Stain = Wright's Blood Stain.
