Blood smear: basophil (100x objective lens)


This basophil shows a mixture of darker and lighter basophilic granules (staining metachromatically purple). The center of the cell is lighter than the periphery owing to the presence of the more lightly stained nucleus, which stains orthochromatically blue.

Stain = Wright's Blood Stain.
