This plastic section from the connective tissue shows a blood vessel containing erythrocytes, here stained with orange G. Note that orange G, an acid dye similar to eosin, stains the acidophilic erythrocytes orange. Cell nuclei are stained red and collagen is stained blue. Note also the variable shape of these cells.
