Red River Rivalry


Go Sooners! Beat Texas!

The College of Arts and Sciences wishes our student football athletes luck in the 101st AT&T Red River Rivalry!

Football students C.J. Ah You, Rufus Alexander, Cory Bennett, Larry Birdine, Steven Coleman, Joe Jon Finley, Zach Latimer, Chris Messner, Carl Pendleton, Adrian Peters, Demarrio Pleasant, Ian Pleasant, Derek Shaw, Paul Thompson, Darien Williams and D.J. Wolfehead to Dallas this week to face the Texas Longhorns in the 101st match up of the two football powerhouses.

Many of the football players are pursuing degrees in the college, from African and African American Studies to Sociology and Sociology-Criminology.

More than 68,000 fans will crowd the Texas State Fair Park on Oct. 7 for an intense day of football. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ABC.

Congratulations to Nancy Blass, pre-medical adviser in the Department of Zoology! She was awarded the Outstanding Adviser for 2006 at the Oklahoma Academic Advisors Association meeting last week. She received a plaque and a check.
